The Tower House Sanctuary Ribbon-Cutting Celebration
Hidden in the forests of the Hudson Valley stands one of New York’s most extraordinary works of art: a five-story sculptural home built entirely by hand over fifteen years by sculptor and visionary builder John Kahn from stone, timber, slate, copper, and reclaimed treasures.
On September 26 and 27, 2026, The Tower House Sanctuary opens to the public for the first time, during an official ribbon-cutting celebration that pairs Kahn’s rare architectural landmark with two intimate concerts each day by Carnegie Hall pianist Katya Grineva.

Katya’s Tower House performances offer an exclusive preview of her upcoming December 27th Carnegie Hall concert, featuring Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Ravel’s Boléro, Chopin’s Scherzo No. 2, and Liszt’s St. Francis of Assisi Preaching to the Birds, among other celebrated masterworks.
This inaugural opening is made possible by James Beer, whose generosity and stewardship of both Kahn’s artistic vision and support of Grineva’s world-class performances have brought this landmark to the public for the very first time.
General admission is $80 per person for full-day access. Every ticket supports Katya Concerts for Kids Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 99-2144966) bringing classical music and Carnegie Hall access to underserved children.
